I am soon to be doing up my bathroom. I want to get rid of the old bath and just have a shower, but I'm not

sure that the bath will fit through the door. I think it might have been put there when the bathroom extension was originally built. Do I just have to smash it up and how would I do this? The bathroom is a single storey extension and it needs a new roof as well so should the bath be lifted out that way? All replies appreciated thanks.I am soon to be doing up my bathroom. Getting the tub out of the current space will be the major problem. Cast iron tubs can be broken with a sledge hammer but be aware the flying debris is dangerous. Plastic tubs can be cut with a Sawzall. If you are in the U.S., shower draijns are required to be 2'; while tub drains are 1-1/2'; so you will need to address this before installing the shower.I am soon to be doing up my bathroom. if it is a fiberglass tub/shower unit you will have to cut it up to get it out. and to get a new shower back in you will need to purchase a 3 piece unit or tile every thing. remember that a tub has a 1 1/2 drain a shower as a 2 inch drain line.
It must have been able to fit to get it in in the first place. We replaced our bath with a shower and at times we have regretted doing so.
Most baths are about 19';high , you can measure from the floor up to the top and add for both flooring thickness and possible tile flange on top (3/4';)...Most bath doors are 28'; or 30'; so you should not have a problem. The biggest problem is lifting the tub from between the walls where it now sits....have fun!!!
Depending on what the tub is made of you may be able to break it up and take it out piece by piece. Even if it is cast iron you can smash it with a sledge hammer. Taking it out in pieces is the easiest if possible but if you turn it sideways it should fit through any door frame.
If it is a cast iron tub , might just bash the hell out of it w/ a sledge.

The porcelain %26amp; metal splinters are razor sharp %26amp; will fly.

Once drain %26amp; water supplies were disconnected , it took about an hour to break it up alone %26amp; haul out the pieces from a ground floor bathroom.

Intact, a cast tub has got to weigh over 200 lbs.

Unless you have lots of help , might be safer to break it up.

Best regards
Your doors would ordinarily be 32'; wide..If you stand the old tub on it's side..it will go thru most doorways..Measure it first.

Qestion for bath and body works stuff? does that 3 us ubble bath, shower gel, shampoo all in one work for hair

does that big bottle of smelly goodness good for your hair does it make it soft? or what?Qestion for bath and body works stuff? does that 3 us ubble bath, shower gel, shampoo all in one work for hair
I found that it makes hair smell really good but kinda dries it out. So if you are going to use it, use a good conditioner and that will be fine. I had a peppermint kind over the holidays and I loved it, but I mainly just used it for bodywash.

Hope I helped!Qestion for bath and body works stuff? does that 3 us ubble bath, shower gel, shampoo all in one work for hair

Why do we feel fresh relaxed and rejuvenated after a shower or bath?

Warm water increases blood flow, and if you prefer cold showers the cold water is stimulating. Also the smell of the soap no matter how light is somewhat therapeutic. There's also the feeling of washing away problems, stress, anger, and all negative things down the drain. Why do we feel fresh relaxed and rejuvenated after a shower or bath?
A bath or shower brings the body temp. back to absolute normal. Why do we feel fresh relaxed and rejuvenated after a shower or bath?
BECAUSE WERE CLEAN!!!
Because water refreshes us by removing dead skin and dirt and other scum. Also, a hot bath relieves stress caused by muscle aches.
because you are refreshed relaxed and all your skin can breath easyer pores all open up all over your skin
The warm water sooths and relaxes the muscles. The cold water revitalizes you because it sends electric shock signals to your brain to stimulate it. The soap, shampoo, body wash cleanses and gives a pleasant aroma to relax the senses.
Because we are cleaned from impurities allowing us to feel relaxed and plus bubbles make you feel cool.

How Come when I'm on My Period and I get into a shower or bath it stops??

I always wondered this. but while taking a shower or bath my period stops..then when i get out it starts again. why??How Come when I'm on My Period and I get into a shower or bath it stops??
When you are menstruating blood is not continually discharged from your uterus and the minimal amount that is discharged is being washed away with the waterHow Come when I'm on My Period and I get into a shower or bath it stops??
I can't say I've had experience because I am a guy but I am sure it is just to do with the heat/steam your body will probably naturally contract to it. I am sure you are happy that it does stop whilst you're having a shower/bath! Pity you cant take that shower with you throughout the day!
idk, my guess would be pressure - when your in the bath anyway. Like you know how you can stick pencils in a ziplock bag filled with water and the water won't leak? Like the bath water is acting like the pecil, stopping the flow. idk...thats my guess.
imm not exactly sure but it also does that someitmes when your in the ppoool. it slwos down =]

The pressure of the water kind of delays it, but any change in the pressure will make it come out REALLY fast.
It is just something ur body does, like when u swim u don't have to use tampons but its the getting out part people are worried about... i don't really know how or why that happens but i am thankful for any break from my period!:)
I was asking the same question.. I think it's becuase of the temperature in the shower and such and probably the opening closes.. well.. it's just the way that the body functions..
my friend who dives alot told me that it temperarily stops for about 10 minutes in the water.
I think becuase if it goes it-stuff and go in and you're body just works like that..
im not sure but the exact same thing happens to me
It doesn't stop; it just gets washed away while you're wet.
it happens to me 2.I don't think it stops, i just goes away with the water.

In water conservation, which is better a shower or a bath?

I'm sure that your showerhead can affect flow, etc. but I keep finding flip flop between showers and baths being better. Also, many sources say, ';short,'; showers, but don't actually define the shortness. I gather that the wet self, turn water off, soap up, then rinse method would conserve water but I'm thinking of a regular old average shower.

So, just looking for a general answer, if an average shower is 10 minutes with an average showerhead, is that shower better or worse than a bath in an average sized tub in an average home (not a gigantic one, not a tiny one)?In water conservation, which is better a shower or a bath?
showering uses more water than a bath.In water conservation, which is better a shower or a bath?
use a shower but the ones that help out with global warming, i herd about it on a site so like ten mins are good but a bath migh use more water. But when u think of leaving a shower on for ten minutes and filling a bath tub.......
I would say a bath. With showers, the water is always running, with a bath once it is filled up then the water is off. It really depends on the size of the tub, the shower head, ect.
Put a block on the drain, take a shower and you will truly find how much water you use during a shower, and ofcourse, most fill the bath tub up for a bath. Everyone's results will be different.
shower
About 15 percent of an average home energy bill goes to heating water. To save hot water, take five-minute showers instead of baths. Install a low flow showerhead. Do only full loads when using the clothes washer or dishwasher. Use cold water for laundry and save up to $63 a year鈥攄etergents formulated for cold water get clothes just as clean.
I've tried this one. It's better to take a shower. You can use the third of the water if you have the right shower head.
A shower by all natural spriong water is great and as for women they need to bathe often becasue their tush needs a flush.
Quick solution..

Plug drain and run shower for 10 min. Notice how much less water you use then when you fill the tub up with the faucet.
well... it would depend on how much water u used in the tub.... but if u controlled the amount of water used in the tub then i'd say tub would be better.
Showers use far less water than a bath. It takes about 30 gallons of water to fill the average tub. A shower with a flow of 4 gallons of water a minute uses only 20 gallons in 5 minutes.
Some shower heads are ';water savers'; -- after that, it is up to you.
Figure out how long you take a shower. let shower run w/ curtain closed for that amount of time.

Showers tend to be better.
A shower is definitely best for water conservation.

You can test by putting the plug in and see how much it fills in the time. A 10 minute shower will not fill the bath much, maybe only to a third of the amount you would use for a bath. So having a bath uses at least 3 times the amount of water.
Home use of water accounts for less than 10% of water use in the world.

Do whatever you like, shower or bath.
5 minute shower is the best

  • Do you get out of the bath shower or pool to pee?

or hold it, or just go.Do you get out of the bath shower or pool to pee?
I pee in the shower ^_^ get out in the bath and pool those are disgusting... I also pee in the ocean but way far from where i am swimming lolDo you get out of the bath shower or pool to pee?
    I pee in the shower

hold it in the pool and bath

firstly cos i am soaking in the bath and i don't want to be in my pee

as for the pool well family is in that that would be gross to have

ya wee nieces and nephews swan dive in ya piss

    eww
I would absolutely get out and go! And i never pee in the pool. To me that would be more respectful in case your family members are swimming. Or i would go in side to use the bathroom.
    I just go.

    Ain't nothing wrong with that.

Pee is 95% water, cleaner than most people's skin.

Except the bath, that's just weird.
    Bath: Get out and go

    Shower: Stay in and pee

    Pool: Get out and go
i hold it in the shower and in the pool i get out to pee.
    Get out.

One of the other options is unhealthy, and the other is just gross.
I only #2 in the pool, the 'floater' gets everyone out quicker than a shark at the beach...
i get out of the bath and pool but im guilty of peeing in the shower hahahahaha
If I'm in the shower I just pee, in the pool I get out
    I let it out.

    It builds character.
yea i get out to go to the pee or ill just hold it
i jusst pee in thee shower %26amp;%26amp; i get out of thee pool to pee
