I am soon to be doing up my bathroom. I want to get rid of the old bath and just have a shower, but I'm not

sure that the bath will fit through the door. I think it might have been put there when the bathroom extension was originally built. Do I just have to smash it up and how would I do this? The bathroom is a single storey extension and it needs a new roof as well so should the bath be lifted out that way? All replies appreciated thanks.I am soon to be doing up my bathroom. Getting the tub out of the current space will be the major problem. Cast iron tubs can be broken with a sledge hammer but be aware the flying debris is dangerous. Plastic tubs can be cut with a Sawzall. If you are in the U.S., shower draijns are required to be 2'; while tub drains are 1-1/2'; so you will need to address this before installing the shower.I am soon to be doing up my bathroom. if it is a fiberglass tub/shower unit you will have to cut it up to get it out. and to get a new shower back in you will need to purchase a 3 piece unit or tile every thing. remember that a tub has a 1 1/2 drain a shower as a 2 inch drain line.
It must have been able to fit to get it in in the first place. We replaced our bath with a shower and at times we have regretted doing so.
Most baths are about 19';high , you can measure from the floor up to the top and add for both flooring thickness and possible tile flange on top (3/4';)...Most bath doors are 28'; or 30'; so you should not have a problem. The biggest problem is lifting the tub from between the walls where it now sits....have fun!!!
Depending on what the tub is made of you may be able to break it up and take it out piece by piece. Even if it is cast iron you can smash it with a sledge hammer. Taking it out in pieces is the easiest if possible but if you turn it sideways it should fit through any door frame.
If it is a cast iron tub , might just bash the hell out of it w/ a sledge.

The porcelain %26amp; metal splinters are razor sharp %26amp; will fly.

Once drain %26amp; water supplies were disconnected , it took about an hour to break it up alone %26amp; haul out the pieces from a ground floor bathroom.

Intact, a cast tub has got to weigh over 200 lbs.

Unless you have lots of help , might be safer to break it up.

Best regards
Your doors would ordinarily be 32'; wide..If you stand the old tub on it's side..it will go thru most doorways..Measure it first.

Qestion for bath and body works stuff? does that 3 us ubble bath, shower gel, shampoo all in one work for hair

does that big bottle of smelly goodness good for your hair does it make it soft? or what?Qestion for bath and body works stuff? does that 3 us ubble bath, shower gel, shampoo all in one work for hair
I found that it makes hair smell really good but kinda dries it out. So if you are going to use it, use a good conditioner and that will be fine. I had a peppermint kind over the holidays and I loved it, but I mainly just used it for bodywash.

Hope I helped!Qestion for bath and body works stuff? does that 3 us ubble bath, shower gel, shampoo all in one work for hair

Why do we feel fresh relaxed and rejuvenated after a shower or bath?

Warm water increases blood flow, and if you prefer cold showers the cold water is stimulating. Also the smell of the soap no matter how light is somewhat therapeutic. There's also the feeling of washing away problems, stress, anger, and all negative things down the drain. Why do we feel fresh relaxed and rejuvenated after a shower or bath?
A bath or shower brings the body temp. back to absolute normal. Why do we feel fresh relaxed and rejuvenated after a shower or bath?
BECAUSE WERE CLEAN!!!
Because water refreshes us by removing dead skin and dirt and other scum. Also, a hot bath relieves stress caused by muscle aches.
because you are refreshed relaxed and all your skin can breath easyer pores all open up all over your skin
The warm water sooths and relaxes the muscles. The cold water revitalizes you because it sends electric shock signals to your brain to stimulate it. The soap, shampoo, body wash cleanses and gives a pleasant aroma to relax the senses.
Because we are cleaned from impurities allowing us to feel relaxed and plus bubbles make you feel cool.

How Come when I'm on My Period and I get into a shower or bath it stops??

I always wondered this. but while taking a shower or bath my period stops..then when i get out it starts again. why??How Come when I'm on My Period and I get into a shower or bath it stops??
When you are menstruating blood is not continually discharged from your uterus and the minimal amount that is discharged is being washed away with the waterHow Come when I'm on My Period and I get into a shower or bath it stops??
I can't say I've had experience because I am a guy but I am sure it is just to do with the heat/steam your body will probably naturally contract to it. I am sure you are happy that it does stop whilst you're having a shower/bath! Pity you cant take that shower with you throughout the day!
idk, my guess would be pressure - when your in the bath anyway. Like you know how you can stick pencils in a ziplock bag filled with water and the water won't leak? Like the bath water is acting like the pecil, stopping the flow. idk...thats my guess.
imm not exactly sure but it also does that someitmes when your in the ppoool. it slwos down =]

The pressure of the water kind of delays it, but any change in the pressure will make it come out REALLY fast.
It is just something ur body does, like when u swim u don't have to use tampons but its the getting out part people are worried about... i don't really know how or why that happens but i am thankful for any break from my period!:)
I was asking the same question.. I think it's becuase of the temperature in the shower and such and probably the opening closes.. well.. it's just the way that the body functions..
my friend who dives alot told me that it temperarily stops for about 10 minutes in the water.
I think becuase if it goes it-stuff and go in and you're body just works like that..
im not sure but the exact same thing happens to me
It doesn't stop; it just gets washed away while you're wet.
it happens to me 2.I don't think it stops, i just goes away with the water.

In water conservation, which is better a shower or a bath?

I'm sure that your showerhead can affect flow, etc. but I keep finding flip flop between showers and baths being better. Also, many sources say, ';short,'; showers, but don't actually define the shortness. I gather that the wet self, turn water off, soap up, then rinse method would conserve water but I'm thinking of a regular old average shower.

So, just looking for a general answer, if an average shower is 10 minutes with an average showerhead, is that shower better or worse than a bath in an average sized tub in an average home (not a gigantic one, not a tiny one)?In water conservation, which is better a shower or a bath?
showering uses more water than a bath.In water conservation, which is better a shower or a bath?
use a shower but the ones that help out with global warming, i herd about it on a site so like ten mins are good but a bath migh use more water. But when u think of leaving a shower on for ten minutes and filling a bath tub.......
I would say a bath. With showers, the water is always running, with a bath once it is filled up then the water is off. It really depends on the size of the tub, the shower head, ect.
Put a block on the drain, take a shower and you will truly find how much water you use during a shower, and ofcourse, most fill the bath tub up for a bath. Everyone's results will be different.
shower
About 15 percent of an average home energy bill goes to heating water. To save hot water, take five-minute showers instead of baths. Install a low flow showerhead. Do only full loads when using the clothes washer or dishwasher. Use cold water for laundry and save up to $63 a year鈥攄etergents formulated for cold water get clothes just as clean.
I've tried this one. It's better to take a shower. You can use the third of the water if you have the right shower head.
A shower by all natural spriong water is great and as for women they need to bathe often becasue their tush needs a flush.
Quick solution..

Plug drain and run shower for 10 min. Notice how much less water you use then when you fill the tub up with the faucet.
well... it would depend on how much water u used in the tub.... but if u controlled the amount of water used in the tub then i'd say tub would be better.
Showers use far less water than a bath. It takes about 30 gallons of water to fill the average tub. A shower with a flow of 4 gallons of water a minute uses only 20 gallons in 5 minutes.
Some shower heads are ';water savers'; -- after that, it is up to you.
Figure out how long you take a shower. let shower run w/ curtain closed for that amount of time.

Showers tend to be better.
A shower is definitely best for water conservation.

You can test by putting the plug in and see how much it fills in the time. A 10 minute shower will not fill the bath much, maybe only to a third of the amount you would use for a bath. So having a bath uses at least 3 times the amount of water.
Home use of water accounts for less than 10% of water use in the world.

Do whatever you like, shower or bath.
5 minute shower is the best

  • Do you get out of the bath shower or pool to pee?

or hold it, or just go.Do you get out of the bath shower or pool to pee?
I pee in the shower ^_^ get out in the bath and pool those are disgusting... I also pee in the ocean but way far from where i am swimming lolDo you get out of the bath shower or pool to pee?
    I pee in the shower

hold it in the pool and bath

firstly cos i am soaking in the bath and i don't want to be in my pee

as for the pool well family is in that that would be gross to have

ya wee nieces and nephews swan dive in ya piss

    eww
I would absolutely get out and go! And i never pee in the pool. To me that would be more respectful in case your family members are swimming. Or i would go in side to use the bathroom.
    I just go.

    Ain't nothing wrong with that.

Pee is 95% water, cleaner than most people's skin.

Except the bath, that's just weird.
    Bath: Get out and go

    Shower: Stay in and pee

    Pool: Get out and go
i hold it in the shower and in the pool i get out to pee.
    Get out.

One of the other options is unhealthy, and the other is just gross.
I only #2 in the pool, the 'floater' gets everyone out quicker than a shark at the beach...
i get out of the bath and pool but im guilty of peeing in the shower hahahahaha
If I'm in the shower I just pee, in the pool I get out
    I let it out.

    It builds character.
yea i get out to go to the pee or ill just hold it
i jusst pee in thee shower %26amp;%26amp; i get out of thee pool to pee
hell no i just pee lolololol
i just pee in the shower. not the pol though.

How many times a week do you take a shower or bath?
    7
everyday and that's nasty if you don't even more nasty during the summer cause it's 2 hot outside
    I shower about 4 times a week, roughly every-other day. I also have a low-flow showerhead.
    Every day.
At least seven, more if I am doing anything that gets me particularly dirty.
AT least 6 times a week
    I shower twice a day...so that's 14 times a week. I apologize if this is a bad practice.
Every day. I use a low-flow shower head, and shut off the little valve while I soap my body and hair, then rinse, and I don't use alot of water!
7 showers a week. One per day.
I shower once a day, sometimes take baths in the evening.

I thought it would be interesting to do a little research on how often a person should bathe and the recommendations. I was surprised to not find much on the subject. But here is what I did find..

Bathing/showering removes dirt, dead skin cells, and body odor. In the United States, most people bathe or shower daily or every other day. Bathing this often may not be the case in other countries or cultures. A person may not need a full bath or shower every day, but the face, underarms, and groin (area between the legs) should be kept clean daily.

Personal hygiene, such as bathing, is very much dependent on the culture in which you live. In some cultures, it is expected that you will wash your body at least every day and use deodorants to stop body smells. Other cultures have different expectations.
    shower twice a day

this is the humid torpics ,

    its now 45 degrees celcius

    and people get very sticky
When I'm at home then every day. Sometimes I go to really hot places and then I have about 4 cold showers a day if possible, at other times I go to really cold places and don't have a shower for a week or more - not through choice but because everything's frozen solid (have to melt ice in a pan and get washed with a cloth as best as possible - not fun when it's 30 below).
At least once a day . To stay healthy U have to .No one enjoys smelling others body odor.
OH MY GOODNESS !!!! Everyday ~ THANK YOU

sure wish that everyone did! Soap isn't THAT expensive!!!
    eveyday @night and morin
You are supposed to take a shower every day but since I hate taking showers I only take them every other day. You need to take showers every day so that you can wash off all the sweat and germs. Especially the extra dead skin should come off also.
Two in summer, and one the rest of the year everyday.
I live in the Caribbean, I have to take more than one shower daily...if not I feel terrible cause the heat and humidity. So it would be around 14.
Almost everyday, but I do limit my shower to less than 5 minutes, after getting wet, turn off water, soap, scrub and rinse.

About 1 time per week really take some time.

    bless
At least 14. I live in the tropics.
Minimum 7, but I live in South Florida where the heat and humidity are treacherous, so sometimes more.
at least once a day, sometimes more and wash my face at least twice a day
I take a shower every day.
    7
I always take a shower or a Turkish bath b4 i leave my house only if i am going out to my daughter's house who lives an hour and 1/2 to 2 hrs away from me.
Every day. Sometimes twice a day depending on what I've been doing.

Can i go in the shower or bath when i recently get my belly button peirced?

Of course you'll have to shower, new piercing or not. I'd suggest against taking a bath, mainly because it'll be easier for soaps to irritate your piercing as apposed to taking a shower. Just make sure to clean your piercing thoroughly with a q-tip and a salt water solution before and after bathing. Can i go in the shower or bath when i recently get my belly button peirced?
    Shower - Yes

    Bath - No

Whats the difference between a bath and a shower?

A bath is when you immerse yourself in water, usually by putting the plug in the tub. A shower is water that comes out of the shower head over your head, similar to when it's raining.Whats the difference between a bath and a shower?
    shower,water falls on your head

    bath, you sit in water.

Either way, you come out clean.I much prefer a shower.

Like the other answerers, I showed a remarkable amount of restraint here! lolWhats the difference between a bath and a shower?
A bath is great for soaking your whole body in and just relaxing after a long day and a shower is good for just a fast way to clean up
where are you from????? you sit in a bath full of water you stand in a shower that runs water over your body
you sit in a bath and stand in a shower.

What do you think of when your having a bath/shower?

I think clean. What do you think of when your having a bath/shower?

    ';wheres the soap??';

I think about how I've spent the day imagining standing under the hot water and just relaxing and how it's so much better than i'd imagined!
    i dont have them

    hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

not a very good survey is it

if you dont leave all options open

    tut tut

i should get 10 points for pointing that out
    i don't know.... stuff maybe

just w/e is on my mind b/c you just have all this free time..... but when i have something heavy on my mind its weird b/c im subconsciously showering while thinking about ... my thought....?
    Everything! What I'm worried/excited about!
All the words of the songs I am going to sing and if I don't know them all, I make them up as I go along.
How long I can stay in there without someone knocking on the door, usually not long.
Alot of things as its ';me'; time where i can think of my worries and fantasise about my Future :D
How much I love the smell of my grapefruit body wash and John Frieda shampoo :)
I think of bills, politics, media...what's for dinner...
im enjoying this, now just wait till someone turns on another tap and the temperature changes.DOH!
I think about how great it feels and how lovely and warm it is.
Why I can never get the water to be the perfect temperature...
    nothink
I like reading in the bath- but that doesn't work so well in the shower!
    ummm...getting clean...
planning for upcoming time... how can I use it in proper way
    I fantasize about my future...
    ';Can I be bothered getting out for a pee?';
*20mins into the shower* Dam, i don't wanna get out
    getting clean...
about the day and stupid stuff I'd rather not think of when I'm trying to relax and shower.

Is it ok that i apply lotion, such as, VITAMIN E, to my skin after every shower or bath?

I wonder, because i dont know if it could cause acne? But, it feels really good to be clean AND smooth. baths sometimes dry my skin out, what should i know?Is it ok that i apply lotion, such as, VITAMIN E, to my skin after every shower or bath?
If it's lotion you can puti t on and nothing bad will happen. It might help with acne.

-ConnorIs it ok that i apply lotion, such as, VITAMIN E, to my skin after every shower or bath?
I would not recommend an oil based lotion, it will clog pores. What you want is a water based lotion, like Lubriderm, which is what we use most in hospitals.
If it feels good... use it! If you notice breakouts then common sense would be to stop. There is a middle ground though. Try adding some drops of Vitamin E to your bath water. After you soak in the tub your skin will absorb the oil and be super soft and you won't have to apply it after the bath... but MAKE SURE you rinse the tub VERY good after because bath oils leave a slippery film and could cause a fall to the next person using the shower.

What's the longest you've gone without taking an actual bath or shower?

Why did you wait that long???? Did you get sick? A kid asked me this question and I wondered what most people have for an answer. What's the longest you've gone without taking an actual bath or shower?
When I was a filthy druggie hippy freak following the Grateful Dead around as a teenager I was more or less homeless, living in my car for nearly a year. I probably went a couple of months without bathing at one time, but then a freind said I was getting ripe so I went to a lake and bathed there. Now I bathe more regularly, but not every day. What's the longest you've gone without taking an actual bath or shower?

Four days. It was on a camping trip where there were no facilities for that and it was too cold for dipping in the lake. No one got sick, but that nice, hot, bath was most appreciated on returning home.
2 days because I was laid up sick and could barely get out of bed to pee. But boy didn't that first shower feel awesome.

When I want to pamper myself I take a bath that is a bit cool so I can really wash myself well. I must look like a woman in the bathtub the way I feel and pamper myself and extend my legs like a woman does when she washes herself.

Other times for a rest I will take a real hot bath.

In normal times a shower because it is easier to clean my hair and armpits.

  • Does anyone own a non- electric shower that is put onto the bath taps?

If so how much did it cost?Does anyone own a non- electric shower that is put onto the bath taps?
just under 200, not one of those rubbish rubber things. mine has a thermostat mixer taps withh shower attachment!Does anyone own a non- electric shower that is put onto the bath taps?
';I have'; And it cost about 拢15.00 at Argos, ages ago..works fine for me... p.s., I have used the 拢3.00 rubber ones and they tend to pop off the taps,so this 拢15.00 one I got has the mixer tap on it for the bath as well...
Yes, it cost 拢2.99 from Tesco about 6 months ago. I use it every day and it still works fine.
    about 拢10
I have one and it cost me 拢60 and that's average Homebase or BnQ
they are only any good if your water pressure is good. We have low water pressure so all you get is a dissappointing trickle.
i think you mean a bath shower mixer,if you have low pressure make sure it does NOT have ceramic glands price 拢60+
yes they are quite cheap they are rubber
about 拢3 they am ok but after a bit they pop the taps thats why they are 拢3 lol god lookin at how much every 1 else paid 1 got a barin bonus !!

Shall I take a shower or a bath today?

A shower is far more efficient, of course, but I've got time. And what should I wear to another yet silly dinner party tonight? Keeping in mind that I'll be drinking red wine?Shall I take a shower or a bath today?
First off, showers are less efficient than baths. Second, being a girl, baths can lead to yeast, bladder, urinary tract or vaginal skin infections or irritations.

If you are drinking red wine, the why does it matter what you wear? Unless you are a piece of meat and the red/white wine thing goes, then it doesn't matter. Or are you planning on getting that drunk, that you need to worry about wine being spilled on you?Shall I take a shower or a bath today?
Pamper yourself. Take a bubble bath.

If you have a sexy dark red / maroonish dress...wear that. ;-)
Oh, if you have the time, take a bath, with candles ans scented oils! I wish I had the time for one. Go relax girl! You'll be in a much better mood for your party afterwards. I'll stay here, full of envy (lol).

As far as your clothes, well, I don't know your wardrobe and what type of dinner it is, but a black dress never fails (and it hides the red wine mess).
lets stay home with the red wine and you put that dress on for me ,ill take it off slow and........
bath if u have time.... and make sure u wear something sexy that guys like!!!!!!!!
Shower. It is said that a bath doesn't really get you that clean. You run water into a tub...then bathe in it...and rinse with the same water. Very unclean to me.

Dinner party attire: I say if you want to wear a dress...a red...wine colored dress. or black...something that if you accidently spill red wine on...it won't be noticeable.
well when you take a bath all the dirt you wash of stays in the wtaer but you clean your***** better but when you take a shower the mojoity of the dirt go down the drain but your feet are standing in it and you don't clean your ***** better so it your choice
Take a bath... and wear what ever you like..
i think that you should take a bath today because they are more relaxing and they help you calm down.
Take a shower to get clean then take a relaxing bubble bath.
Take a shower...a bath is wasteful. And since you will be drinking, try wearing something tacky, like a mumu or a tube top.
Heh, before I read your message I was going to ask how much time you've got. Definitely go with the bath.
take a shower...baths dont get you as clean
    bath
Take a shower. And wear a red dress to go with the wine. It depends really on how formal the occasion is. If its not that classy but more of semi-formal, then just put on a nice blouse and skirt (not miniskirt, not denim). If its just another night out with the girls, then wear whatever is comfortable for you.
shower and wear somthing black, black is seexy
I am taking a shower~ I have to get ready for church and cook dinner! bye
If you have time get some bath oil, scented candles and your favorite dildo. If you are in a hurry the pulsating shower massage is a good. As for the dinner party wear a short skirt and no panties. It should keep the party from getting boring.

    Have fun.

For those with a bath hangup you can stand up and rinse with the shower when you're done bathing. Why haven't you figured that out yet? Stupid?
Hmmm, I say shower, unless you are going to allow someone to join in with you, then its all bath :)
if you're day is a day of relaxation and fun- take a bath.

If you need to fell invigorated or refreshed take a shower. For red wine, in a casual setting- coll weather would be suede pants, a filmy blouse and heels.. greys and burgundies or stylish black. for warm weather a peasant skirt, crinkled tank top with bracelets or dangly earrings are pretty hot too.....if you're wearing pants wear your hair up, skirt wear your hair down.....
    shower.
Take a shower so you'll have more time to do things like your and stuff. If you'll be drinking red wine don't wear anything white(you probably already knew that). Just wear something you haven't worn in a while.
bath...nice with bubbles.... then a shower to clean yourself

    jeans and a nice blouse.
    Shower and lingerie
Just hose off in the front yard!
if you have plenty of time then you should soak yourself (take a bath) and if your going to be drinking red wine then wear something dark u dont want no one to see if u spill something on yourself.
    Don't wear white,

maybe a brown color, or black if thats all you have.

As for a shower or bath, if you have no time whatsoever, a shower of course.

But if you do have time, go ahead take a bath!
    bath

Bath versus shower. Does a bath make the intimate areas of the body cleaner than a shower?

because those areas are soaked in water for longer?Bath versus shower. Does a bath make the intimate areas of the body cleaner than a shower?
No; shower is more effective. When showering people are generally more active in the application of soaping %26amp; rubbing crevices, it is easier standing. A shower provides continues fresh water which makes a difference - but only significant if the person is very dirty or the bath (water) is shared. A shower can last as long as a bath so the soaking is the same if required. Perhaps the question might be restated ';would you prefer to share a bath or a shower?';.Bath versus shower. Does a bath make the intimate areas of the body cleaner than a shower?
I think having a shower is more hygienic because when you wash your body from dirt and grime, it flows straight down the plug.

However with a bath, when you wash yourself, the water that you use to get clean, stays in the tub. So really therefore, you are washing with not very clean water.

Showers are better for hygiene reasons but baths can have their pro's too like having a nice relaxing soak.
Baths are relaxing but as for cleanliness, I think the shower wins. In a tub you wind up sitting in your own filth (I call it a** soup), not to mention using soap while you are soaking can aggravate your ';intimate'; areas because you can't actually rinse off completely.
I dont think so, remember that you are sitting in the water that includes all the grime, sweat, dead skin etc,etc that has been washed from your body.

Shower everytime for me..............Mmmmm thinking about it........lying in a steaming hot bath is quite nice for a change.
No. Effectively the longer you sit in the bath the more dirt you are sitting in. As the dirt falls off you skin and you wash the more dirt is in the water.

Showering gets rid of such water straight away.

Why do some people take everything in a dirty way! lol

I think a shower is cleaner because skin cells and dirt is washed away immediately. In a bath you are sitting for a period of time.
    No.

If you wash the ';intimate areas'; thoroughly in the shower regularly they wont need an intense soak in the first place.
Just like to remind people to clean shower heads regularly otherwise you just end up getting covered in milldew and limescale
Yes for that I think a bath makes you cleaner but a bath is supposed to be less hygienic because you are sitting in dirty bath water.
shower makes you cleaner period. Because in a bath you are sitting in your own filth...showers...it doesnt stay...it washes away...hey that rhymes...lol
    Definately a shower.

Those who think your question is wierd is only a wierdo themselves!
In theory yes, but then they are just soaking in their own dirt anyway... So the shower is probably better!
    Are you for real?

Why do your fingernails turn clear after you get out of the bath or shower?

Definitely. Both my fingernails and toenails, as well as my body, soul, and spirit, get totally clean and clear whenever I take a hot, soothing, relaxing shower with an invigorating 5 oz. bar of Dr. Bronner's Pure Castile Eucalyptus Soap. Why do your fingernails turn clear after you get out of the bath or shower?
Because they are cleanWhy do your fingernails turn clear after you get out of the bath or shower?
Cause their clean or maybe its because your body reacts to temperature change. You pick the right answer.
Your fingernails are porous. When you have been in the shower or bath, your nails absorb some water. That is why they are clear. They are also very likely to tear and be damaged when they are wet.
because they have absorbed a lot of water and they are more pliable....a bit weaker. Nails are actually dead anyway. they get soft in water and become clear. When they are dried out, they get hard and turn white/yellow

After having a spray tan is it best to have a shower or bath?

  • Is it okay to shower or bath when having a cold or flu?

The moist air is excellent for a cold. It will help you breathe more easily. Immediately after getting out of the tub or shower, rub Vick's Vaporub on your throat area and that will help to keep your nasal passages clear so that you can continue breathing easily.

If you have the flu with a fever, a cool bath or shower might help to cool off your body and bring down the fever. If there is no fever, it would be comforting to have a warm bath.Is it okay to shower or bath when having a cold or flu?
Half the time, thats the only way i can breathe. Is it okay to shower or bath when having a cold or flu?
yes I would even get some cold care bath stuff you might feel better
Totally, it might even help you feel a little better. I know that for me, there's nothing more relaxing than a nice hot shower when I'm sick.
no.... u shouldn't....... especially when you're having cold...
    yea.. why wouldnt it be
Its great for you actually. The hot water vaporizes and enters your lungs and can clear sinuses and help you breathe better. It can also relax your achey muscles people tend to get when they have cold or flulike symptoms. The steam and heat arent going to hurt you at all. Sometimes people will even add things like essential oils to help them breathe easier. So to answer your question its perfectly okay, in fact I encourage it.
As long as you take a shower with a fresh, invigorating bar of Dr. Bronner's Pure Castile Eucalyptus Soap, you will be fine. Besides, eucalyptus is known to get rid of a cold and a flu.
I love having a hot steamy shower wen having a cold

caus it helps clear the head and nose helps u breathe so much better

How long since you had a bath?? Not a shower...a BATH. Sitting in a tub full of water, relaxing.?

    Can you remember that?

Jaccuzzis and hot tubs do count. How long since you had a bath?? Not a shower...a BATH. Sitting in a tub full of water, relaxing.?
last week. i added seasalts. normally i'd use bubbles, but i ran out (i like baths)

i was planning on having a bath earlier today.... after reading this, i think i'll have one later.

and for people who think it's dirty, why not take a quick shower beforehand? if you use a loofa daily, you shouldn't have nasty flaky bits of skin falling off.How long since you had a bath?? Not a shower...a BATH. Sitting in a tub full of water, relaxing.?
    This morning.
    Maybe a month
Its been months.. maybe a year.
too long. people shouldnt be focussing attention on me in the first place. Thats the point of hiding
A Hindu once compared tub baths to 'wallowing in one's own filth.' Viva la filth! as far as I'm concerned - but in a Jacuzzi. Showers rock for daily cleansing - tubbing takes too long.
hmm, a loooong time. i think i'll go take a bath right now...with lots of bubbles...
    a loooooooooong time..............................
Not too long ago, maybe 2 weeks. I'm under a lot of stress lately, and my fiancee drew a bath and made me get in and relax until I turned pruny. And then he made me dinner!
day before yesterday, i do it all the time for the luxury and pleasure and for the buoyancy. and the bubble bath.
Sunday night.....relaxing, candlelight, glass of wine, nice and hot. Since then two showers though.
a bath simply belongs to my sunday morning
the last time i had a bath was in may
Oh, I bathe regularly. Much prefer it over a shower!
I had a bath last night. I like to take a shower in the morning and soak in the tub at night before bed
maybe 2 yrs ago, I don't like baths, I could never figure out why people liked to sit in a tub of water that contained dead skin cells, dirt, oil, and other body debris
I sit in my Jacuzzi at least 3 times a week. The night before last and the night before I was sitting in there. I had the jets on the last time and I do wash up with soap and all that. I love it, it sits pretty close to the bed in the bed room. So I watch Adult Swim while just chilling.
i can't remember. I personally do not like them.

How do you get over the feeling that you are wasting SOOOo much water just filling the tub???
A bath meaning soaking in a tub of your own filth? Not since I was a child!
    may be 2 months ago.......
Last night. I soaked in a hot bath with herbal bubble bath. I relax in the tub at least 3 times a week - it's a great way to re-energize myself after a hard day at work, or a day spent doing chores on the weekend.
ghosh ! maybe a year ago ! why do u ask
i go in our hot tub all the time
I bath when i have time, i really like that, i had a bath yesterday
Something about sitting in a pool of my own filth just doesn't appeal to me.

I mean...seriously....you sit in the tub, and all your sweat and grease and whatever you got on you that day just slide into the bathtub...and then you marinate in it.

How many times a day do you take a shower/bath?

onceHow many times a day do you take a shower/bath?
normally once a day, in the morning.

unless i do some really icky stuff that

requires that i sweat, or get dirty.

in which case i shower twice. lol.

how bout you?How many times a day do you take a shower/bath?
    3 times..

    A shower in the morning..

Another shower after I come back from school.

A relaxing bath in the evening...
did you know that showering or bathing too often strips your skin of essential oils? you actually shouldn't shower too often. I do it every other day, which some drs. say is too often.
    3 x a day

1 in the morning b4 work

1 after i get off of work to go out

1 when i get home and get ready for bed
Typically two, because I usually exercise in the morning and jog in the afternoon.
    2. One is in the morning in one is in the night.
If I have nothing to do, I take one every other day or so. I always shower if I have plans with people.
Usually once... but if I'm ill I've been known to take three or four baths a day. I'm such a waster :)
    2 times...Its very hot here..
    once but in summer 2-3

Why does my shower head and faucet leak in bath tub while water is turned off?

I need to fix these leaks. I don't believe it is diverter. Shower head doesn't seem to leak while running bath, and faucet doesn't seem to leak while using shower. It seems on/off handle isn't turning water all of the way off.Why does my shower head and faucet leak in bath tub while water is turned off?
Im no pro but can suggest two things that may help- if the handle isn't shutting all the way off you need to take it off usually there is a tiny screw on the underside of handle/knob look close they blend in quite well and are hard to see - or the center may have a plastic piece that pops out and screw in center - you need to remove the screw and pull off fixture then use a pair of pliers or pipe wrench to turn ';valve'; or ';pin'; all the way off which may only be a slight bit, but will fix the problem. You do this where water is turned on and off (aka the tap) not at the spout or shower head. Also use a towel to protect from knicking or stripping the shut-off mechanism. If this is not helpful - try Teflon tape - it's cheap and simple but is for the shower head only - remove the head from the part it connects to (the arm) not at the wall - and simply wrap around threads (8-10 times) in direction of thread, (not super important), and reapply head tightly with wrench using towel to protect chrome - also look in the the shower head itself is the rubber ring damaged or pushed in too far - you may need to replace it or adjust it to create a tight seal. hope this helps

PS close/plug drain so you do not lose the screw. Why does my shower head and faucet leak in bath tub while water is turned off?
if is just leaks for a few moments it is just pressure release in the pipes like an air bubble purging. If it is a continues leak the stem is leaking. is is hot or cold? If you replace the stem do not forget the seat inside yo need a removal tool. The tool cost less then 5.00 and the seat about 2 or 3 bucks. the stem. This is an easy fix a plumber will charge you at least 100.00 plus parts and you can do it for less then 20.00 You will also need a few other plumbing tools.
what you need to do is to remove both faucets (shut water off first) once you have removed the faucets you need to check the gaskets (rings) if they look worn out you need to replace them and that hopefully should take care of the leaks.

Can i use a shower pump to fill a bath?

if so what type of pump

and is it ok to have the hot tap open and not the cold? Can i use a shower pump to fill a bath?
    Yes you can.

Salamander do a range of whole house pumps that have a by-pass so that you can use hot and cold independently.

I have a shower over the bath with a thermostatic mixer valve and a diverter valve that turns one way for the shower and the other way to fill the bath through a centre spout. Can i use a shower pump to fill a bath?
    NO YOU CANT

however ther are pumps to do this job

but you are not allowed by law to d.i.y.

as it is a '; notifiable to buiding dept '; install.

( fine could be 拢 5000..00 for d.i.y. or non registered trade)

and you will need a certificate of compliance with building regs.
Hello, not sure what a ';shower pump'; is but if it is made for showers, then it should fill a bath although slower. As long as the pump is on the main line to the faucet the valves will operate normally and it should not make a difference which tap is open or not. Hope this helps:-)
Do you work in the Fire .. Shower pump?!

Pumps used in homes for the purpose of increasing water pressure all line would be connected with .

Be able to do what you want in the end its your bath !
Shower pumps used for power showers have two ends, one for hot water and one for cold. Because of the volume of hot water they draw they should have their own supply from the hot water cylinder closest to the top or via an Essex flange. If you use the existing supply to the bath you will probably suck air if another hot water tap is opened and damage the pump.

Its not something I would want to try, especially with the electrical problems if you were intending to put the pump under the bath.

Which is better a bath or a shower when you are sick?

I have a sore throat my chest is really heavy, aches all over and a runny noseWhich is better a bath or a shower when you are sick?
Try sitting in the shower, that always helps me :) because then you don't feel sore from standing and the water is rushing over you so it makes you feel better =D

    hope you feel better

xWhich is better a bath or a shower when you are sick?
shower the steam will help losen anything you have built up inside of you. If you can go to the store and look in the baby care department- Johnson and Johnson has a baby bath that is a vapor type stuff to help babies with stuffy noses. It worked wonders with my son and I would pour some just on the shower floor and it would help
A shower real hot though. Then you can get it over and done with.

Dont stay in the cold too long, then get into your pyjamas and snuggle up into bed.
a shower because the water vapor will help to feel less congested. after the shower, i would relax and sleep, that way you can get better faster
    bath
    a warm steamy bath

Will it be bad to wear a blessed cross necklace while taking a bath or shower?

Jesus did not die on Cross, so where is the question of having a blessed cross neckless?

Matthew records that the learned men among the Jews - the Scribes and Pharisees - came to Jesus and asked, ';MASTER, WE WOULD SEE A SIGN FROM THEE';. (Matthew 12:38).

    NO ';SIGN'; BUT ONE

With righteous indignation Jesus replies: ';AN EVIL AND ADULTEROUS GENERATION SEEKETH AFTER A SIGN; AND THERE SHALL NO SIGN (no miracle) BE GIVEN TO IT, BUT THE SIGN (miracle) OF THE PROPHET JONAS: FOR AS JONAS WAS THREE DAYS AND THREE NIGHTS IN THE WHALE'S BELLY; SO SHALL THE SON OF MAN BE THREE DAYS AND THREE NIGHTS IN THE HEART OF THE EARTH.'; Matthew 12:39-40).

So Jesus said my Miracle will be like Jonah,

Now when Jonah went to Fish Belly, Was he alive or Dead?

When he prayed inside fish belly from God, was he alive or Dead?

when the Fish throw him out....was he dead or Alive?

Alive , Alive ...Alive,,....its big miracle, if he dies in fish belly its not special thing,

same like Jesus, if Jesus dies on cross its not a miracle. the miracle is that they put him on cross but he did not die, like Jonah.

and later he proved that he did not die and did not resurrected, like Jonah...he was true with his words.

';Behold (have a look at) my hands and my feet, that it is I myself (I am the same fellow, man!): handle me and see; for A SPIRIT has no flesh and bones, as you see me have. . . And he showed them his hands and his feet.'; (HOLY BIBLE) Luke 24:39-40

To assure them further, to calm their shaky nerves, he asks: ';Have you here any meat', i.e. anything to eat? ';And they gave him a piece of broiled fish and of a honeycomb, and he took it, and DID EAT before them.'; (HOLY BIBLE) Luke 24:41-43

So Jesus prooved that just like Jonah did not die in Fish belly, he too will not die!!!! and his miracle came true.

004.157 That they said (in boast), ';We killed Christ Jesus the son of Mary, the Messenger of Allah';;- but they killed him not, nor crucified him, but so it was made to appear to them, and those who differ therein are full of doubts, with no (certain) knowledge, but only conjecture to follow, for of a surety they killed him not:-

Al-Qur'an, 004.157Will it be bad to wear a blessed cross necklace while taking a bath or shower?
I'm not God but He asked me to ask you how much you spent on a PHONY BLESSED CROSS while 42,000 children are SUFFERING and DYING every day while you listen to SATAN tell you how to keep from helping feed the SUFFERING thinking you are getting a bargain to buying your way into heaven. Will it be bad to wear a blessed cross necklace while taking a bath or shower?
    no, of course not.

what is unholy about being naked in the shower? cleanliness is next to Godliness.

its a blessing to have children too, so don't think its a bad thing to keep it on in the process of having a child, at ANY stage of that process.
    Yes!

You might wash the blessing off!!!1one.

Less credulity please, what you have there is a cross necklace.
it will any where because Jesus don't like it
Only if it's made out of sugar.
Don't you know that it is a basic tenet in Christianity that you are not to get your wood wet?
This is actually an answer for KHALID who wrote:

and later he proved that he did not die and did not resurrected, like Jonah...he was true with his words.

KHALID, THIS WASN'T TO SHOW THAT JESUS DIDN'T DIE - NO ONE WHO WAS CRUCIFIED SURVIVED. RATHER IT SHOWS HE WAS NOT A GHOST (SPIRIT) HE WAS STILL A LIVING MAN WHO WAS RAISED FROM THE DEAD. HE WAS FULLY MAN AND GOD

What age should a child stop taking a bath and start tking a shower?

My older boys started with showers when they were about 7 and my middle son was 5 and also took them. My youngest started at age 5. I think it depends on the kid and what they are comfortable with and how mature they are. If they are capable of washing themselves and their hair and all then a shower is fine. I didn't start allowing my boys to turn the shower on for themselves until they were about 10 though and really knew how to adjust the temp. What age should a child stop taking a bath and start tking a shower?
Until I was in high school, I always took baths, but I eventually started using the shower. Now I greatly prefer showering. It's all about preference, really. What age should a child stop taking a bath and start tking a shower?
i agree they can take baths as long as they want ... and i also think they can take showers as early as they want after they can stand securely and be trusted not to play with the temp controls (so they don't get scalded). as long as there's a non-slip surface and an adult or older child is controlling the temperature, there's no reason why a 3- or 4-year-old can't take a shower with supervision (as is also needed for a bath at that age). my 6-year-old showers on his own after i start the water for him (he knows if the water temp changes he shouldn't try to adjust it but should just step quickly out of the shower and ask me for help). most days my 4-, 6-, and 8-year-olds shower (the 4-year-old with help) and my 2-year-old takes a bath. but the older kids still like a bath occasionally, too.
i started at 9 but i still take baths everyonce in a while
    At no age......

A shower is a quick way to get clean. Its probably less effective then a bath, but many adults feel they don't have the time to properly bathe so they jump in the shower, lather, rinse, and head off to work.

Let the kid take a bath, the world will smell that much better!
My daughter will be 5 in March. For the last 6 mnths she has been requesting taking showers now that she's a ';big girl';. I help her, but no more baths.
I stated taking baths at 7 and i was perfectly fine. i still take baths once a week or when i am sick.

if you are afraid your child will fall in the shower put some flor grippers in the bathroom so they will not fall.

    Right now i am 11
Well they should start taking less baths and more showers once they are 9 or 10. I'm 48 and still take baths, but I take more showers.
Some children do not like the water on their head that happens in the shower, so they prefer baths. I do not think there is an age, just when the child feels comfortable. I prefer my girls 11, 8 and 4 to take baths because they always get water all over the floor when they shower.
i stoped taking baths at 6 or 7 but it was for a really lame reason i was afraid of the big closet behind the bath tub im still scared to this day
I think it's fine to take a bath at any age.

    Just let him/her decide?
I give my son a shower he is 15 months he loves the water over his head... just depends on the kid...
7 is when i started but baths are okay when they are sick or need to relax
I didn't switch to showers until I was around 10..just never saw the point. And my mom still only takes baths . So I don't think there's a certain age. I guess whenever they show interest and they're old enough to be in the bathtub without being supervised.
I did it as soon as i knew how to work and could reach the shower faucet. I knew I had the option of being '; a big girl'; taking a shower, or doing the normal with a bath.
    shower no good
I think when their old enough to take a bath without supervision, they are old enough to take a shower. I think I started taking a shower when I was about 7, but just because showers are quicker than baths, and I wanted to get out of the bathroom and keep playing with my toys! When I switched to showers, I even had my mom come in and wash my hair ( I wasn't very good at it yet ) So that's an option too. I say just let them be independent if they want to. You can always help out if they want. I also think its ultimately up to the child, if he/she like to take baths, there's no reason why they should switch to a shower!
You mean I can't take baths any longer? Oh my.
last time i checked there was no age requirement to stop taking baths....adults take baths....if your that worried about it go to a hardware store or home improvement store and buy that attachment thing for your shower that you can hold and spray so your child is not afraid at first...but bubble baths rock...
    7
Even adults take baths. It's purely a matter of personal preference. If they want to switch over, they can, but there's no reason they should.
I don't think you should stop if you take baths. There is nothing wrong if you take showers or baths!
i have never gotten baths..not that i know of...but i started showering myself when i was 4...so yea
My daughter is 4 and was scared to take showers until I found this at Home Depot for around $20. I can bring it down to her level, with a softer stream of water and I can unsuction it when I need help her rinse her hair. I love it!

I don't think that kids should stop taking baths. For preschool-aged kids, water play is great for sensory integration and numerous other developmentally appropriate experiences.... But you may need to limit baths depending on the time you have. Showers can cut the time in half.
When they want to. I know some adults who never shower, only bathe.
Anyone can take a bath. But I wouldn't let anyone younger than 10 take a shower, they could slip and fall. I started showering at 8 and I fell within a week. I slipped and fell and on the way down I hit my head on the bath faucet and shattered the ceramic soapdish in my side. I had a massive concussion and needed 43 stitches in my side (from where the glass punctured). My sister started at about 10 and she was fine.
You can always take a bath, but I started showering a lot when I was around 13 years of age. You start sweating (and all that other puberty stuff), so the shower is the quick and easy way to get clean.

  • What is cheaper: taking a bath of taking a shower?

I was just wondering, coz when you take a bath you fill it up once and that's it, while a shower is water falling continuously. Although, there could also be the fact that if you take a LONG shower it would be better to take a bath. So how long would I have to shower in order for a bath to become cheaper?

thanks! What is cheaper: taking a bath of taking a shower?
A shower longer than 20 minutes would probably be more expensive than a bath. With showers, not as much water comes out of the faucet at one time, like a bath. So we are ';costed'; for the water in USA.

    edit:

lol pranav, in USA, if you are an adult, you usually have to pay for your water bill. Sometimes the landlord pays, but most of the time you have to pay. What is cheaper: taking a bath of taking a shower?
As you've already figured out, short effective showers costs less.

How much water your shower spends depends on the shower head so it's hard to tell just like this. But, if you have the shower and bathtub at the same place you can take a normal shower with the plug in the tub and see how much of the tub the shower fills. I have arthritis and used to take long hot showers to deal with the pain and I found that it's better to take a long hot bath instead.
a bath is cheaper. for the shear fact that you are not constantly being rained on by 4 gallons of water a second. a bath however, is more water efficient, for the fact you are only using a little bit of water comparatively to 4 gallons a second.
Easy answer assuming you have, or have access to a shower bath combo. Next time you take a shower, plug the tub. Time how long it takes the tub to fill up. Subract 1 second and the shower is cheaper.
i think that taking a bath would probably be cheaper...but baths are just kinda like sitting in a puddle of dirty water, and when you get up, it sticks to you again, so you didnt really clean youself
this is a silly question my dear frend.

who cost you for water.and even if it is costed then take a measurement like liter that i have used this much litre of water
A shower is better unless you take a REALLY long shower. Probably anything under like 20 or 30 minutes and a shower is better
shower uses less water and resulting less gas to heat new water in water heater

    shower is cheaper
    Take a shower.

How do you switch to shower mode on a single handle bath faucet?

It's one of those ones that has the handle in the center and up is for the bath and down switches it off. Which direction is it supposed to be for the shower? Is it possible that the visible shower head is merely for looks rather than a utility? Hopefully this isn't a stupid question cause I can usually figure out things like this. Any help is much appreciated. How do you switch to shower mode on a single handle bath faucet?
Its possible you need a diverter on the tub filler. How do you switch to shower mode on a single handle bath faucet?
There must be a diverter, either on the tub spout or on the (chrome) cover plate to the shower valve, for a single handle shower valve.
Sounds similar to the one I have in my house in the guest bathroom.

Try pulling down on the bath tub faucet, where the water comes out.

Seriously, if the house inspector hadn't of shown me that, I would never have thought to have tried that. Now I have to remember to show my guests how to use the shower.
sometimes there is a ring that you pull down on, on the water spout. give that a try

What is the difference between a bath and a shower in the way that americans use the word?

Shower implies standing under a stream of running water while you bathe.

Bath means sitting in a tub of standing water while you bathe. What is the difference between a bath and a shower in the way that americans use the word?
Joey got it right. As a bit of extra information, very few Americans seem to take baths these days. We usually shower instead because it's so much faster. People ALWAYS run a tub or basin full of water (a bath) for infants and children, but most adults seem to prefer showering. Because of this, it is considered a luxury to fill up a tub of nice hot water and have a soak in it... a luxury of time. What is the difference between a bath and a shower in the way that americans use the word?
The difference is usually about $5. American motels usually charge more for a room with a bath than a room with a shower.
It depends on what part of the country you are from. I live in NC. Taking a shower is standing up under running water. Taking a bath is seating down in a bath tub of water.
With a bath, you wash your face with the same water you wash your butt with, but this doesn't happen in the shower.
Bath is when we sit in a tub (bubbles optional) and we bathe ourselves.

Shower is when we bathe standing up.
a bath means u fill the tub with water and a shower means u use the top sprinkler thingy
    I agree with Joey Is.
    i agree as well.

How often do you take a shower or bath?

how much is normal? thanks. How often do you take a shower or bath?
Everyday when i wake up... and when i get back from work in the evenings (usually 10pm) without fail. Sometimes on especially hot and humid days, 3 times daily on weekends. Of course this is tropical country where the temperature averages 30 celcius throughout the year.

Winters in London and Switzerland were cold and heated baths were not always available many years ago; so i bathed rarely and infrequent. This was not a good practice because i was infected with ';scabies'; after having stayed with a young european girl. We had sex. I did not wash up afterwards (due to the cold). Taught me a lesson.

A few years ago i went back to Switzerland for a white Christmas (minus 15 C). This time i showered at least once every day of my 2-week stay; sometimes more because i had girl company. How often do you take a shower or bath?
by doctor standard u need only to bath every other day because the more u wash the more the skin loses it protection cover earlier in the years doctor have told new mother to bath their baby every day now that found out that it wrong because the skin doesn't have protection but if you stink than every day please
At least once a day-more often if I work outside in the yard, etc. and get dirty and sweaty.

I would think daily is ';normal';. At least here in my city.
3 full showers a day. its a necesity if u live in a tropical country
I bathe 1 time per day .. i dun believe in over cleaning onself .
    Daily
every other day, on average. my skin dries out easily and I found that daily showers aren't necessary.

Most people in the US shower daily, however unless a person is in a dirty job or super sweaty/smelly, our skin skin does not need to be cleaned so often. Water %26amp; soap actually dry out our skin and rinse off natural bacteria %26amp; oils beneficial to the skin. Hair, too, has natural oils and gets dried out by all the shampoo.

But I think it is a matter of being 'in tune' with your body and what it really needs versus the habit of daily showers.
i shower every morning and every evening
2 times a day is fine for me.
Depends on how innately greasy you are. I know some naturally greasy people who have to shower 2x per day and some non-greasy people that shower 3x/week. Does that help? So I think the amount of showers people need is based on the person and how quickly they get smelly/greasy.
once or twice a day unless you are sweaty then you might need more. if your going out you also might need to take an extra one to be extra nice
It is very important to take a shower or a bath everyday. The reason is that your body gathers dirt, grime, sweat, oil, dead skin cells, and bacteria throughout the day. And it is important to get it off. In terms of soap, you only need to use it in the areas where you grew hair after the age of thirteen. Running water is sufficient enough to get rid of the rest. Too much soap can distrub the natural balance of your skin oils and lead to dryness and itching. Also dont forget to wash your hair at least every second day!

How do you remove glass shower doors and railings on a bath tub?

I need to remove the two sliding glass doors (they ride on wheels on the top) and, if possible, the metal railings on the top, bottom, and sides. I have noticed the railings and support bars have a gummy glue-like substance, which I assume is to help seal it and keep it in place.

This is to make it easier to give my baby a bath in the tub. I don't need the doors for now.

Any advice is appreciated. Thanks. How do you remove glass shower doors and railings on a bath tub?
The glass doors ride on wheels in a track on the top rails. They are removed typically by holding onto the door and then lifting the wheels out of the track and the doors come off. Sometimes they are just riding in a track and you can lift them straight up and out, and sometimes there are smaller holes in the track that you have to line the wheels up with in order to get them out. If you take off the doors you might not have to take off the rails if it is OK with the rails in place (and then you can put the doors back when the baby grows up!)

Once you take the doors off then you can see how the rails are affixed to the tub/wall. Typically there will be screws on the end of the rail that extend into the wall (typically the bottom rail isn't screwed into the tub). Take the screws out. The top rail should come off pretty much when you take out the screws. The bottom rail also has silicone sealant on it. You can carefully cut away the biggest parts of the silicone to get the bottom rail off. Then you can carefully scrape off the remaining silicone.

Hope this helps. All in all not a difficult job, although tedious getting the silicone sealant off.How do you remove glass shower doors and railings on a bath tub?
Lets resolve this overdue question by bringing it to a vote.

What is more cost effective, taking a bath or taking a shower?

taking a bath. you're only filling up the water till a certain point and use what your have...but showers you're contanstly running the water probably filling bathtub 10 times over and over before your done. What is more cost effective, taking a bath or taking a shower?
shower. takes much less water. What is more cost effective, taking a bath or taking a shower?
You use less water to take a shower than to take a bath
Taking a shower. You use less water. Very cost effective!
I think taking a shower would be most cost effective, especially if you use a low flow shower head.
    shower with a partner
shower, as long as you aren't in it for an hour
Well it's going to depend. If you're taking a four hour shower.. get in the bath.

Otherwise the shower is going to be a lot less water and will lighten up your bill.

  • Can a hot/warm shower NOT bath help start labor!?

I have some pains right now. If i take a warm shower will that help at all o no?

    im 39 weeks pregnant

I was 1cm dilated 50%eff on MONDAyCan a hot/warm shower NOT bath help start labor!?
My friend is a nurse, she used to be an OB nurse. She told me that back when she worked in the OB the way she used to progress labor with the women was to walk and take a hot shower, like as hot as you can stand it. Obviously dont burn yourself but you want to make sure the water is warm enough that the muscles will loosen up and let the baby move down some. She told me it was safe and wouldnt hurt the baby. Im sure that if the baby wasnt ready to come just a shower would not make him or her come out. But it could help with loosening muscles and all that which will lead to more dilation. So go for it,you never know! Can a hot/warm shower NOT bath help start labor!?
im not so sure about a hot shower...but it might possibly help ease some of the pains and relax you.

my sister-in-law went into labor with her first while taking a warm bath.
sex, sex and more sex will work

What do you prefer - a sitting bath or a standing shower ?

How much time do you take to finish the bath or shower ?What do you prefer - a sitting bath or a standing shower ?
sitting bath wen i'm cleaning my toes, legs, and my most sensitive skin

standing wen i'm lathering my upper body....What do you prefer - a sitting bath or a standing shower ?
about 3 min. in the shower
I really switch back and forth alot! I showered just about every day last year (8 minutes) and have bathed every day this year (10 minutes).
sitting bath when im putting some liquid soap and standine shower after that.it only takes 15-20 mins.
I shower until I'm clean....no timers or anything... I don't like to take baths because the dirt is IN the water you're supposed to be cleaning yourself with... If the wife lures me into a bath, I shower before the nights up...
In general a standing shower...anywhere from 5-15 minutes (if I have the time, I love long showers)...but sometimes I get in the mood for a long hot bath (I let out some water and turn the hot water back on a bit)...but after the bath, I may take a quick shower anyway...I do that, I'm good for at least half an hour in there...
stand up shower i am very claustrophobic it takes me about 15-20 min
i usually take a bath once a month to let loose and relax and i usually do it with my wife. Shower the rest of the time
I like a bath if I need to kick back and relax the aches after a hard day, but most of the time I prefer to shower. 3-5 minutes in the shower saves a lot of time for other important jobs(like answering questions on Yahoo).
    sitting batch

    10 mins
i like them both i like to start ina nice hot bath with lights low and a lil music.

cleaning myself head to middle to toe and then back again to the middle you know make sure it is good and clean and then after all the warmth has gone from the tub i pull the plug and let all the water worries and whatever else go down the drai then i stand up start the shower nice and hot and wash my hair and get all the soap off

it usually takes me about i hour but i get to do that rarley any more now it is about 10 min for a shower and anothe ten to get dressed
15-25 minutes. SHOWER. Sittin in your dirty water is hardly relaxing for me...that's all I think about lol
standing shower and i like it hot and long
start out with a nice hot bath with dead sea salts, scrub from toes to head, then shower off, bout an hour
If I am really dirty, I don't like to take a bath. I prefer a shower so I don't have to see all the filth I am soaking in, but if I'm pretty clean to start with, a bath is much more relaxing than a shower.
I usually only have time for a 10minute shower. On the weekends, I take long, hot baths after I put my son to bed.:) Great question!
shower...takes me 5-8 minutes. longer if i'm really dirty
Hmm...I think it takes me 15-20 mins....longer if I have to shampoo as well !! :)
    Summer - Shower

    Winter - Baths
Having just remodeled my master bath and putting in a totally over-the-top bath, and shower next to it that is its equal... I have to say I'm a shower person all the way. Baths make me antsy and uncomfortable, even if I have a bunch of bubbly jets in 75 gallons of water. :-)

    Of course, that's just me.

What uses more water a shower or a bath?

I would think a shower.. But maybe a bath.. Well I have no idea. ha ha.

I'm just curious. What uses more water a shower or a bath?
All depends on the user. If you have a water saver head in the shower and take a quick shower as authorities suggest (3-5 minutes) then generally the shower would. Unless when you have a bath and you only 1/4 fill it then it would be the bath. If you are like me when you have a bath and fill it to the top and then lay in there for ages and when it gets cold you let a little water out then refill it with some more hot and then run your head under the tap to wash the conditioner out of your hair then definately not the bath, lol. Needless to say, I dont have baths very often these days in drought ridden Australia. On the other hand, my friend (male) gets in his shower and it has a huge BUSH SHOWER HEAD and he stays in there for like 20 minutes. Well, you can imagine the water he wastes.

You can be water concsious with either a bath or shower. It is how you utilise the water that counts. What uses more water a shower or a bath?
A Shower uses less energy, usually the shower uses less water but it depends on the shower head.

If you want to test the amount of water used in a shower vs. a bath is to put the plug in the bath next time you take a shower.

After you've showered, see how much the tub filled up.

If there is less water than you would usually have in a bath, then you will probably save money by taking a shower instead of a bath.

Make sure you reuse the water you put in the bath for the garden and other things.

    I hope this helps :)
It all depends on how long of a shower you normally take, and how much you fill your bathtub. My son fills the tub to swimming level, my daughter takes 25 minutes showers. I don't know which is worse, but I'm about to start charging them for cleaning themselves.

If you want to test which method uses less water for you...then take a shower as you normally would, with the plug in the tub, and see how high the water goes by the time you're done. If it's less water than you would normally use in a bath, then showers are better.
It depends on how long you stay in the shower for, or how much water you put in the tub. Generally, a shower uses less water than a full tub.
I would've thought a shower, because the water is coming out continuously while a bath has has the same amount of water because you're filling tub. but that's just my opinion :)
i think a shower because the water just keeps going and going but i think people have done like tests and they say that they are the same but i don't believe them
    Shower.
It all depends on how long u stay in the shower...%26amp; how dirty u are.
im guessing most of the time its a bath

It is bad for your skin and hair to bath or shower every day. It strips your body and hair of natural oils you need to stop them drying out. I had this from the advice of my doctor. I shower twice a week and wash my hair twice a week. I only take a bath once every two weeks. I wash thoroughly every day. I am British.
    Daily...British.
I rarely have a bath, but greatly enjoy it when I do.

I never have a shower while living at home.

But every morning I wash my entire body using shower gel at the basin

    I am English/British.
I am American and I take a bath or shower every single day. The only exception to that rule is if I am sick or if I am being a couch potato on the weekend. It's usually a Saturday of Sunday that I do this and don't take a bath or shower, but I am in the shower the next day. But overall, I take a bath or shower every day and sometimes twice a day.
every morning i have a shower, and every week i have a bath which is normaly on a friday!

    i'm so British !!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm British, i shower every morning altho occasionally i will have a bath instead but only on a day when my hair doesn't need wetting to tame the rampant curls!

How about you? are you squeaky clean?

DIY remodel a bath tub into a shower?

I want to do that with the floor tiles and everything, im basically looking to keep the same size, but maybe i want to centre the drain. Im a 20 year old girl, and i think the hardest part will be changing the showerheads and stuff, but can somebody give me a play by play or website?DIY remodel a bath tub into a shower?
I have the perfect site for you. It has pictures and step by step instructions. It also tells you exactly what tools you'll need. Good Luck!!!

    Ok, Here goes:

Demo out the old tub, if it is cast iron, you will have anout 300 lbs to remove. I like using a sledge hammer to break it up, very theraputic.

remove any wall covering or tile you do not want. If you are redoing the entire thing, best to remove the sheetrock as well as the tile in one step.

Now, check your plumbing, up date old fixtures, add blocking to the stud wall for wall grabs, build in any alcove type shelves you want to add.

Shower pan, this can be a bit trickey so i will give you a web referance.http://www.oatey.com/shower_drains/lit/S鈥?/a>

Now you will need to give the wall tile a good surface to adhere to. I use 1/2 concrete board ( its actually paper and concrete layered) and attach it with screws to the studs.

    Now just tile then grout.

triming out to the old wall can be done several ways, tile transition, wood trim, caulk, paint.. you decide.

Now install all your hardware and trim rings.

Can be done in 3 long days by 2 experianced workers, but would allow a week to 10 days, especially if you do not have a bunch of tools, like tile saws, demolition hjammers, concrete floats, grout floats and mixers.
You are going to need to make a pan, using either sheet metal, or polyvinyl liner, do some plumbing, maybe a little framing, tile work, trim carpentry, and paint. What's the problem?
The hardest part will be trying to move the drain to the center. If you are thinking about tiling a bathtub you can't.
Tell you what... the coolest tubs/showers are the clawfoot tubs that are just near the wall enough to have access to the showerhead... they are classic

Is it alright to use body bath or shower gel for my hair (dreads) instead of shampoo?

here's the situation..i have dreadlocks and people say that i should use residue free shampoo..but here in the philippines, there are no distributors of such products (ie.dreadhead HQ/knotty boy shampoos).. then i found this body bath and shower gel.. no artificial fragrance and it has natural lavender and tea tree oil..i have read that some people recommend these for dreads but i'm not sure if i should use this product because its for the body/skin..

is it safe to use shower gel for my hair?? thanx guys!Is it alright to use body bath or shower gel for my hair (dreads) instead of shampoo?
find a shower gel for hair and body i use it and it is great to useIs it alright to use body bath or shower gel for my hair (dreads) instead of shampoo?
no its to alkaline and is not the right pH-balances...your hair will look dull....
i think it would be fine just dont over do it and if it gives you a rash then it may be time to find a new shampoo or drop the dreadlocks
use Suave or V05 Daily clarifying shampoo.
No! as it says it is for your body not your hair, have you ever heard of Head and Shoulders? that should do it. After I used it for a week my hair looked so much healthier!
go to motowngirl.com they have alot of thing that are home made for the hair like your and the work and what so nice the thing s you need is in your house hope this is help
even though it might be somewhat safe, it isn't. It will dry out your hair really fast with constant use and in turn, your hair will begin to break off. hope that helps. If you find any natural oils then just use that. Our skin needs moisture after using those products, that is why distributors recommend conditioner for our hair after use of shampoo.
I use shampoo as body wash sometimes, so I guess soap is soap. think of 100 years ago, they used lye soap. I think you are pretty safe.
not sure ..maybe if it is supposed to be stronger maybe it will work :)
