Mold problem in mobile home shower/bath tub!?

I have a mobile home and it has the plastic-like surface covering the three sides of the walls around the bath tub/shower area. But they are kind of ';bowing'; and the caulking has come off. This is allowing water to get underneath and mold is growing. I would be willing to replace it, but I'm afraid the same thing will happen again with the new plastic-cover thingies (whatever you call them!). Should I do something else or just try to re-caulk it back down after cleaning? Thanks.Mold problem in mobile home shower/bath tub!?
Mold in a mobil unit of any type is caused by poor air circulation.

Once you kill the mold or replace the finish, you need to address the air flow. Bathrooms are bad for this because you shut the door and trap in moist air.

Think of anything that will move the air or let it escape. Vents are good. Add a vent to the bottom of the door or at the top with the vents positioned so you can't see in.

Add an electric vent similar to the one over a kitchen stove that sucks out steam from cooking. Putting it in with a timer switch lets you turn it on after using the bathroom and it will shut off in a few minutes.

I had a small trailer for living in at a job a long ways from home. Saved gas during the work week and was cheaper than renting an apartment.

I decorated my bathoom so I could prop open the door with a foot prop that was attached on the bottom of the door. I only closed the door when the bathroom was in use. I left the shower curtain open to allow moisture to dry and I got a small electric fan (a cheap one, about 5 inches across) and attached it to the ceiling so that it barely hung down at the top of the door (on the hinge side) pointing out of the bathroom to push the air from the bathroom into the rest of the trailer.

This tiny plastic fan didn't make that much noise, I could run it 24/7 and it didn't cost much, even if it wore out it was only a few bucks to buy another one.

To my surprise that small air flow, pulled the air out of the bathroom and stopped all mold (even from dampness around the toilet in winter). A side benefit was that the whole trailer benefitted from the small constant movement of the air. I found I slept better in a small place because of the air movement and it kept the smalll trailer from making you feel closed in. In winter, that fan near the ceiling ( by blowing vertically to the ceiling) kept the heat in the trailer moving so that the floors were not as cold and the ceiling heat was moved down to where I felt warmer.

It was then that I realized that putting heat in a mobil home was good but air flowing in the mobil unit was more important. It kept the trailer smelling better, I didn't get moisture damage over time and lots of things. You can put those moisture gathering units in places like closets and closed cupboards but they can only do so much. Opening the doors and letting air flow is the only thing at stops mold and mildew.Mold problem in mobile home shower/bath tub!?
caulk and recaulk. You have to maintain that seal or the same thing will happen again. It wouldn't hurt to install an exaust fan to vent the moisture after a shower. Leave it run about 20 min.

Can't see to say if it needs replaced or just recaulked.
Mold appears whenever the place is always wet and moist. After repairing it, pls make sure the bath room is well ventilated and if possible fix a small fan to dry the area fast. Keep the window and door open after a bath.
You'll need to remove the existing surface and repair any water/mold damage behind it and then replace it with new and recaulk it.
