On average how much more water is used when having a bath compared to a shower?

If you were to have a bath and then also use the shower to wash your hair how much (appprox) water would you be using?....bath filled 3/4 full.

How many showers would you get out of the same amount of water?....quick body wash and hair wash.

Answer will help solve family argument : )On average how much more water is used when having a bath compared to a shower?
If you are using a low-flow showerhead, a shower tends to be in the 8-10 gallon range. A 3/4 full bathtub uses about 30-35 gallons, less if the person displacing the water is ';large';. The prior answerer is right, but now you have rough numbers without wasting 8-10 gallons of cold shower water. On average how much more water is used when having a bath compared to a shower?
the typically 10-15 minute shower uses much less water that a 3/4 filled bath tub. here is a way to prove it to your family. Get into the shower and use a sponge or piece of printing paper and place it over the drain inlet. You have to be sure that the inlet is not allowed to let water drain through it. Now turn on the cold water (no need to waste hot water) and let the shower run for 10- 15 minutes, and check out the level of the standing water in the shower stall. It is easy to see that shower's use less water. remember you are not in the shower during the test....
While I don't know the exact gallons, I recently got on a home weatherization program through the electric company and had a visit from a consultant to educate me on all the ways to save money on water and electric to heat the water. He said that you use MUCH MORE water taking a bath than you would a shower.
Hi.It depends how much water your bath holds...so many different sizes.

A powerful shower can produce 15l a minute easy so for 10 min 150l used.

a bath would use about 60 to 80l .

Showers do now generally use more water than a bath as people stay in them for longer.
