i think its when your skin has been in water for a long time it goes all white and wrinkley but i dont no why?? has anyone got that from like pool even? Why do you get wrinkley fingers after a shower or bath??
Your skin absorns water and grows. Since its connected to you it can just ballon out so it ends up wrinkling. Why do you get wrinkley fingers after a shower or bath??
the answer is these parts of the body have little skin protection on them so when water is put on them these places absorb water making the skin heavy and causing those wrinkles
i dont know but i hate it
I think its because it dries your skin out
because your skins not waterproof der
xx
Because the water in your skin is being drawn into the the bathwater by a process known as osmosis
Osmosis is the diffusion of water through a cell wall or membrane or any semi-permeable barrier from a solution of low solute concentration to a solution with high solute concentration, up a solute concentration gradient.
So basically: Wrinkly fingers and toes, or pruning as some people call it, happen when your skin soaks up water. Our skin has a kind of waterproof oil on it called sebum. That's why water rolls right off your skin in the bath or shower. If you spend too much time in the water, the sebum washes away and guess what? You're not so waterproof anymore. Your skin soaks up the water causing it to swell in some places which makes it look wrinkly. Now, this only happens on your toes and fingers because they don't have any hair. The hair follicles on the rest of your body are able to keep making enough sebum so it doesn't wash away. The wrinkly skin isn't dangerous or permanent. After you get out of the water, it doesn't take long for your pruny fingers and toes to go back to normal.
SO now you know ;)
osmosis. so water flows into your cells and they expand because they are just made of a lipid bilayer. and when they expand there is more skin area and no place to go so you get wrinkles.
